Rev 20:1 - 4 “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
Humans look death under the influence of fear – Jesus looked at death as a door. There is first and second death; in the first death, death and hades are powerful but the same are not powerful in the second death. The dead are judged according to their works in reference to what has been written in the books; there are books and there is a book of life. (Rev 20:12 – 13).
It is interesting according to Rev 20:14 to learn that also death dies! It is preserved in such a manner that “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” One cannot triumph over the second death if he has not triumphed against the first death. The people who will be the part of first resurrection shall not be cast into the lake of fire alongside death and hades.
The first resurrection people shall reign with Christ in a millennial reign. Jesus gives people access to come out of death and hades; Rev 1:17 – 18 “And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
It is paramount for us to understand what is needed for one to be in the first resurrection. Don’t be tricked to conclude that death and hades are powerful than you; you are given the keys to be powerful than them. Salvation is the key!
DECREE
“I am set apart by the anointing of the Holy Ghost. I encounter the things of the spirit. I cast out the spirit of death, flee now!”
