Rom 3:23 ‘For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;’
In Hebrew, sin is ‘khata’ to mean missing the mark. In Greek too, it is the word ‘harmatia’ to also mean missing the mark. Sin is not in the action but because the mark has been missed. It is missing to achieve the goal set by God to you. Again, it is thus written “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son” – this alludes that the ignorant are walking in sin but them that are filled with the knowledge of God in sanctification.
Sin is a point by which the devil capitalizes to inflict the life of man. So, sin is also a portal. Sin is a system; it is no accident. Dealing with sin is dealing with firstly, sin itself, then lust and finally death. To overcome sin, we must rule lust (desire). Ruling desire is not just controlling, but dealing with the source by changing it (the source). Knowing the source gives you mastery and gain control.
St. James gives us the pattern on how sin comes to a success and brings forth death. He puts it this way ‘But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death’. Many folks are unaware of the source of their thoughts; this causes them to be controllers of their thoughts and desires other than knowing the true source. This is beyond control, it is an ability to change the system that gives forth thoughts.
In salvation, sin is not about what you have done but where you are. Viz, it is identified by the capacity of light that you are. In redemption, we look at an action first then we assess the reality which is mental/psychological. Here is an illustration: angels have light and so they have glory. So, if their light is not as perfect as that of God, they are sinful not because they have sinned but because their light is not perfected as that of God. same to us, when we become spiritual creatures, we will need sanctification; not because we have sinned, nay, but because of the lower capacity of light.
Now, when Adam was in Eden and was allowed to eat from the tree of life, he was in a process of salvation. When they ate from the contrary tree, a process called redemption was begun to correct the mistake then salvation will ensue. We are being redeemed from the sin of the first man. After we are redeemed, we now begin the process of salvation unto eternal life.
Now, in a woman were the desires of food and of knowledge. These desires in themselves are NOT erroneous. However, how a desire is interpreted makes one a sinner or a righteous person. Desire is interpreted by the manner of our thoughts upon such desire which allows God to birth righteousness in a person. James says that in James 1:14 (KJV) “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed” meaning that temptations are pulled by one’s desires. The desire in Eve led to her temptation; it follows that temptation follows desires. By changing a desire, one alters the temptation. God tempts no one.
Now, if a person overcomes sin through control of desire, that is not a spiritual victory; evil desires should totally be removed from one’s life of thoughts. Through redemption, the form of desire is totally changed. The same desire can bring sin or bring righteousness. Sin is a system of principles which has to be properly interpreted; else it will birth sin.
One of the principles in sin is law; without the law, sin cannot be recognized. Without the law, people can be sinners but unaware of them being sinners. Coming to a concept of repentance which is a complete change of mind (and eventually taking man out of sin), one cannot repent unless they are introduced to the system of sin; but sin cannot be understood without a law. So, law was introduced by God to serve the purpose of introducing sin to man for the reason that man be redeemed. Redemption happens until the law is matured (meaning that sin is matured too), at this point Jesus takes a person from death to life.

Excerpts from sermons sin part I and II by our Father, prophet Iman Mwakanyamale.
Gal 3:23-24 (KJV) “But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.”
Rom 5:13-14 (KJV) “(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.”
