Revelation 21:12-13 “And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.”
The city of Jerusalem has light, its walls and gates are of light too. Again, the city has gates (entrances). We saw earlier that “the city is you” and you have light. Accordingly, the city has light and has entrances and in each entrance there’s an angel; However, to our disadvantage we currently do not know the names of those angels (for by knowing a name there is access). The scriptures says that the twelve names of the tribes of Israel are written on each gate.
Nevertheless, the holy scriptures preserves the code to the interpretation of the light of the city when it speaks of the light of the city in this manner “Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;” ( Rev 21:11 KJV). Most beloved reader, the way to get an interpretation of the light that is in the city is through the light of the Jasper stone.
The light in the new Jerusalem is like the light of the Jasper stone; therefore, we should understand the revelation of Jasper stone so that we can understand the revelation of the light in the new Jerusalem. St. John testifies thus “And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:” (Revelation 21:12). The city (lamb’s wife) has twelve entrances and in each entrance there’s one angel with one name of the tribe of Israel.
The city of Jerusalem has the colour of light which is the colour of the Jasper stone. There are different kinds of Jasper stone, we shall observe them later in the series. So, there are twelve names of the tribes of Israel on the gates of new Jerusalem. We also know that every tribe of Israel has its own light. When you look at new Jerusalem you see the light of the Jasper stone, yet when you look at the entrances of new Jerusalem, you see different kinds of lights because each angel on the entrance of the new Jerusalem carried the name of a certain stone.
Summarily, looking at new Jerusalem is looking at the lamb’s wife. We are the wife and Christ is our bride groom and virginity is being created and when virginity is broken the wife and the bride groom become one. The brides are betrothed to Christ through the teachings of Christ. Teachings are entrances to the city and when I see myself as the lamb’s wife, I’m seeing the entrance within me. Earthly mountains (Earth in general) are not different from us; when you are looking at earth, you are looking at yourself i.e. you. “Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” ‘In earth’ doesn’t mean in mountains but in you.
The Jasper stone gives light, also the entrances to the new Jerusalem give light. When we are studying the mysticism of light and the message of gospel which is light, we are going to learn about different types of lights through the gates of entrance to the new Jerusalem. in which in each gate there’s one angel bearing one name of the tribe of Israel. Exodus 28:17-21 the Bible shows us that every tribe of Israel had got one stone which gives out a certain kind of light.
FURTHER MEDITATION
Exodus 28:17-21 “And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row. And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst. And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be set in gold in their inclosings. And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes.”
Revelation 21:13-15 “On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.”
