Heb 2:14 “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”
Through death, Jesus destroyed the one who had the power of death. In the book of ST. John 12:23-25 it is written “And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.”
In the preceding scripture above, Jesus admonishes us to ‘hate’ our lives i.e. to hate our souls. Loving the soul is losing it; hating the soul is preserving it. Now, according to Heb 2:14, we learn that death is a door. Death is a door towards the destruction of the one who held the power of death. You see, you are not supposed to fear death – the devil is the one who created the fear of death; he created fear at the door that processes men into another life.
Before we proceed further, it is important for you to know that Adam was created as a mortal being – not immortal or eternal. From that state, Adam had to cultivate immortality and eternal life. In fact, this is the purpose of our creation; to become eternal. Understand that immortality does not entail living a long time nor eternal to mean living forever (refer to daily devotional titled immortality and eternal life). A mortal man is promised eternal life.
A mortal can live up to thousands of years in the absence of sin. In immortality, a man is clothed with light to give birth to immortality. When man sinned, his consciousness was opened and light appeared. The light came from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam’s mistake was a mistake of revelation and thus, light appeared. When man sins, it is a mistake of ignorance and so light disappears.
DECREE
‘I am deployed by God, my ears and eyes are initiated. Come forth light, I connect to the creation and voices within, and creatures within it. Every spirit of death is cast out.’
