“What you cannot control you fear”
When death is spoken, many folks have a picture of what happens after death and not the process of death itself. Further, the very life after death is not very well understood by those that desire life after death. Imagine in this manner: Your soul is coming out of your body and it cannot remain in the body however much you try. Now, your body is in the coffin, what do you think will be the streams of your thoughts at the moment your soul is departing the body and or, when you are seeing your body in the coffin?
In the new covenant, we are given a mindset not to fear death. In fact, when you see death, you should not fear but rejoice because fear is no more. In Heb 2:14-15 it is thus written “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” We are in flesh and blood; in this same pattern was Jesus revealed. Now, among many other substantial reasons, He was revealed in this manner to the world so that He should …deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
The problem with human beings is not on death but the fear of death. The bondage is caused by the fear of death. The gospel deals with the fear of death first before it deals with death – for a human being shall surely die. Spiritually, the devil is experiencing death; so, the devil and death are two different beings. The devil experiences death because of the iniquity that was found in him. But, the devil had the power of death. What is this ‘power’ of death that the devil had? This power was not given him until Adam fell. By that mistake, mankind was not led to death but to the fear of death.
One cannot destroy an enemy who he fears – until fear is conquered can man defeat death. Them that believe in Jesus do not fear death! They rejoice at death’s presence! Fear is a mentality that is given to man. Fear causes death of what you are protecting by ‘fear’. In his speech, the prolific Job’s writer puts it this way “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.” In whatever area, do not fear irrespective of whatever circumstance for that which you fear rules over you and gets to you [you fear, you lose].
A method to preserve a soul is to remove fear. Beloved, to own and protect you MUST remove fear.
