Immortality and eternal life are NOT necessarily living for a very long time. Both speak on light, glory, habitation, and the life of God. Come ye now and let us reason concerning these two important terms in the path of knowing Christ.
IMMORTALITY
Immortality is found in time, and it is being in the fullness of light. This is not speaking of an invisible God but of Jesus in full stature. “'who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.” (1 Tim 6:16 KJV).
It is hosting God below His absolute consciousness. When one has arrived at immortality, it means that he has a throne and fullness of light, and from this state he begins a journey unto eternity. Basically, immortality is an important step towards eternal life.
Redemption takes a man to immortality; i.e., when one receives Jesus, he begins a journey of redemption to immortality first. Therefore, redemption is being taken to immortality.
ETERNAL LIFE
Eternal life is the life of God. A gift given to them with the image of God. “… but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom 6:23 KJV). To gain eternal life, one must have immortality; ‘to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life’ (Rom 2:7 NIV).
Eternal life being the life of God, it alludes to the fact that God is hosted at His absolute consciousness. It is being everywhere, every time; there is no sense of time here—it is being God. God, through Yeshua, incarnated (decreased His glory) to become like men. We also incarnate (increase in glory) to become like God. Angels, demons, four living creatures, etc., cannot attain eternal life, for they do not possess the image of God.
After man has achieved immortality through redemption, he begins a journey unto eternal life through salvation. Salvation, therefore, is a process towards attaining eternal life, and this is the message of the gospel; for through salvation we are given eternal life.
DECREES:
‘Life from life, Light from light.’
